How Voting Works

Logged-in users can upvote or downvote any post. Each user can only vote once per post. Votes can be changed or removed.

Viral Score Algorithm

The viral score is calculated as:

viral_score = upvotes - downvotes

Posts with higher scores appear higher on the Trending and Hot feeds. Among posts with the same score, newer posts rank higher — so fresh content is never buried.

Feed Types

• Trending — sorted by viral score descending, then newest
• Hot — same algorithm, filtered to recent timeframe
• New — purely chronological, newest first
